Recover Time of GXCSA and SXCSA boards are different after the boards power down and restart to work. GXCSA takes 3 minutes,SXCSA takes about 8-9 minutes.
First point, GXCSA is the cross connect board which has Higher order cross-connect capacity: 40 Gbit/s, and Lower order cross-connect capacity: 5 Gbit/s, and SXCSA is the cross connect board which has Higher order cross-connect capacity: 200 Gbit/s, Lower order cross-connect capacity: 20 Gbit/s. For saving space of the cross matrix, Higher order of SXCSA is sextuple than GXCSA, Lower order of SXCSA is fourfold than GXCSA, and
if saving cross matrix to the space needs to save double(mfs and ofs1), so Higher order of saving space of SXCSA is twelvefold than GXCSA, Lower order is octuple than GXCSA. After the board power down, when the cross
matrix is restoring, the time of CRC verifing of the configuration files, loading of Higher order and Lower order cross matrix, restoring to the memory, saving to the chip
register, and so on, increases times. The average recover time of SXCSA is 2.5 times than GXCSA calculated according as all options above.
Second point, the cross connection chip of GXCSA is fixed bus speed. But the chip of SXCSA is dynamic bus speed, it will configures the slot bus speed to 622M or
2.5G according the service board type in every slot. Therefore after power down, SXCSA need to wait the control board to download bus speed configuration to every
board, but GXCSA uses the fixed bus spped, doesn’t need the control board, this point also affect the recover time when SXCSA power down and restart to work.
