In customer network we have two MA5600T which are subtend between each them with optical cable through GICD uplink interface board. Also they are connect on Cisco router with optical patch cord.
MA5600T have version MA5600V800R006C02 with patch SPC100 + SPH110 + HP1016
During troubleshooting we found that IPTV configuration has following part related to IPTV programs:
igmp program add ip 184.108.40.206 bandwidth 6000 unsolicited enable index 0
igmp program add ip 220.127.116.11 bandwidth 6000 unsolicited enable index 1
igmp program add ip 18.104.22.168 bandwidth 6000 unsolicited enable index 2
igmp program add ip 22.214.171.124 bandwidth 6000 unsolicited enable index 3
All IGMP programs are configured with unsolicited enable option, which means MA5600T_B will report JOIN message in fixed interval (configurable, by default 10s). MA5600T_B will not reply immediately after it receives QUERY message from MA5600T_A
We could confirm this from the packets which we captured on-site bellow:
When MA5600T_B received QUERY message in line 1192, it didn’t reply immediately but after 10s of previous JOIN message in line 1186
When the status of the uplink changes, if the global-leave option of multicast VLAN has been enabled (by default enable), MA5600T_B will send a global leave message to MA5600T_A, then MA5600T_A will send the QUERY message to query the status of the MA5600T_B. If the QUERY message don’t get reply in the required time (within 1 second), all the programs of MA5600T_B will leave the group until the JOIN message was sent. The max response time is 0.8 second (within 1 second). Since MA5600T_B is sending JOIN message in fixed interval instead of replying immediately, the IPTV picture will freeze until MA5600T_A receive the JOIN message.
This problem was caused by the configuration in subtending scenario. We can solve this issue by disabling global leave option of multicast VLAN.
Possible reason of problem can be:
1. Configuration on lower MA5600T
2. Configuration on uplayer MA5600T
4. Terminal equipment problem
3. Configuration on router
Disabling IGMP global-leave which system send will solve problem. Command is following:
huawei(config-mvlan2551)# igmp send global-leave disable
