This case is only applicable if you want to change the collation name of master table into 'SQL_Latin1_General_CP437_BIN'.
In the document "iManager U2000 V100R002C01SPC003 Single-Server System Upgrade Guide (Windows) (N2000 BMS V200R012 to U2000 V100R002C01SPC003)_01" in Chapter "3.9 Checking the Collation Name of Databases " is mentioned that before you start the upgrade procedure from N2000 V200R012C03SPC116 or V200R012C05SPC123 to U2000 V100R002C01SPC003, databases master, TopoDB and BMSDB must have the same collation name.
In order to check this, follow this procedure:
Step 1 Choose Start > All Programs > Microsoft SQL Server > Enterprise Manager.
Step 2 Choose Microsoft SQL Servers > SQL Server Group > (LOCAL) (Windows NT) > Databases from the navigation tree, right-click on the master branch, and then choose Properties from the shortcut menu.
Step 3 On the General tab page, view the Collation name in the Maintenance area.
Step 4 Repeat Step 2 and Step 3 to check whether values of Collation name of the TopoDB and BMSDB databases are the same as the master database.
If there is a mismatch, the upgrade cannot be continued. If you have to change the collation name, please follow this case.
By default the master database has the collation name "Latin1_General_BIN".
During the N2000 installation it could happen that the installation process is creating the TopoDB and BMSDB database with collation name "SQL_Latin1_General_CP437_BIN".
In order to continue the U2000 upgrade the collation name of the databases must be changed to the same type.
This can be reached by the following procedure:
- Backup the N2000 database and all necesarry information
- Uninstall the N2000 and MS-SQL
- Reinstall the MS-SQL server
Follow the installation steps until you reach the page where you are asked for the collation configuration.
Choose "SQL Collations (...)" and "Binary order, for use with 437(U.S. English) Character Set".
Now the master database is also installed with collation name "SQL_Latin1_General_CP437_BIN".
- Reinstall the N2000 and restore the database backup.
Now all three databases are on collation name "SQL_Latin1_General_CP437_BIN" and you can continue the U2000 upgrade.
