After U2000 update from V1R2C01SPC003 to V1R2SPC004, PWE3 trail creation through RTN900V1R1 NEs will get one error The MTU value exceeds the limits

Issue Description

U2000 version U2000V100R002C01SPC004 RTN900V1R1.

Alarm Information

“The MTU value exceeds the limits”.

Handling Process

One day customer report that after update U2000 from V1R2C01SPC003 to V1R2SPC004, PWE3 trail creation through RTN900V1R1 NEs will get one error “The MTU value exceeds the limits”.(see attach) We check all customer configuration steps, and we confirm that problem exist. R&D analyse this problem and confirm root cause:U2000V1R2C01SPC004 increased the function of identifying the version of RTN900V1R1, thus modified corresponding configuration scripts, but didn’t modify the codes of MTU function, then when create the PWE3 trail on U2000, U2000 will give the wrong MTU value to RTN900V1R1 NEs, the NEs will feedback alarms.

Root Cause

In such situation several reason can be root of this problem: 1.Customer not correct configuration 2.U2000 problem 3.RTN900 problem.


Temporary solution: modify the configuration scripts of RTN900V1R1 same as U2000 V1R2C01SPC003, the method of dealing with MTU function is same as U2000V1R2C01SPC03. The configuration files are as below: 1.server\nemgr\nemgr_ptn\conf\e2eadapter\devrtn950\common\common_pwe3_para.xml(attach#1) 2.server\nemgr\nemgr_ptn\conf\e2eadapter\devrtn950\v1r1c02\pwe3_para.xml(attach#2) 3.server\nemgr\nemgr_ptn\conf\e2eadapter\devrtn910\common\common_pwe3_para.xml(attach#3) 4.server\nemgr\nemgr_ptn\conf\e2eadapter\devrtn910\v1r1c02\pwe3_para.xml(attach#4)
Permanent solution: the version U2000V1R2C01 SPC100 will increase the function of indentifying the version of RTN900V1R1 and dealing with the PW service MTU parameter correctly.
