Package loading failure during RTN Upgrade from V1R2 to V1R3 using U2000 (Filezilla tool)

Publication Date:  2012-07-25 Views:  117 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

Loading software package failure and rollback takes action, we tried to re-load the package many times but all with the same results.

Alarm Information

Handling Process

  1. Checking and verifying the software version and source.
  2. It appeared the software is damaged during moving to the RTN or the server.
  3. Since the server is based on SUN Solaris and we are using FileZilla to transfer the file.
  4. We checked FileZilla configuration the transport type was Auto Not Binary so this led to big changed in file while moving also the file size on the server is different from the PC.
  5. After changing transport type to Binary and re-copy the file to server.
  6. We compared the package file sizes on the server and the original and they were Identical .
  7. Re-loading the software package and activate it.

Root Cause

After checking the reports and the log file of the software it appeared that there is a package damaged file DSSPCfg.xml we checked the software version and download a new software but the problem still the same.

During upgrade, the file should not be changed and we must compare the package file sizes before Installing it on the RTN.
If we use Filezilla to transfer upgrade package the transport mode should be Binary.
