Issue Description

There is a TN12OBU103 on the 6800 with version of R4C04. Optical power cannot be modified TN12OBU as no Vo and Vi port on the menu of U2000.

Alarm Information

Handling Process

So far, it is not necessary to modify the optical power for this card and keep it like this. If we want to modify the optical power, logical board should be changed into TN12OBU which is the same as the physical board type. Locally, we could use Vo and Vi port. There will be impact on the traffic when changing fiber connection. We need to make a record of some important information such as optical power, gain and logical fiber relating to this board. Because every settings will be changed to the default after reconfiguration the logical card.

Root Cause

The NE was upgraded from R4C02 to R4C04 previously. Before upgrade, TN12OBU103 was added on this NE. However, this board cannot be used as TN12OBU when the host version is R4C02. We could use it as TN11OBU and added the logical board as TN11 because of TN12OBU with feature of multiple ID. In this case, TN12 has the same function as TN11. On the site, only IN and OUT ports were used. After upgrade, only TN12OBU could be used as TN12 itself. It cannot show all of features until change logical type from TN11 to TN12.

If there is no service on the board, we could do it as the way I mentioned. If there is service, we need to think about it and take the impact of range into account. It will be better to add VA card.
