On one site customer complaint that ping lost observed in transmission system of SDH due to which the customer is not getting the desired (Committed) bandwidth from EFS4 port.
1.Check the alarms on EFS board and port if found any alarm remove the alarm first.
2.Check theNE and board version of both ends where services configured. (Should be consistent)
3.I found that NE and boards both are using different sofware version
I have upgrade the EFS4 board at OSN 2500 from 3.16 to 3.17. after that the EFS4 boards have the same version at both the NE's although NE's are still on differnt version but the Packet lost issue is resolved.
The services was configured between OSN 2500 with version 18.104.22.168P01 and OSN 3500 with version 22.214.171.124P03. The EFS4 board used in OSN 2500 having version 3.16 while the EFS4 used in OSN 3500 running with version 3.17 so the two EFS4 (Ethernet) boards running on different version. Due to different version of EFS4 boards the packet lost while trying to ping between NE’s.

Always follow the steps when installing the new boards (ethernet boards)
1.See the NE running software version support theboard type you are going to install if not first upgrade the ne Version.
2.Match the board and NE sofware version after installation of new board the board version should be consistent with the NE version if not then downgrade/upgrade the board software to make it consistent with NE version.
Also the Ethernet boards give best performance without any packet lost with same version.
