FAQ- MOP for changing the ASON OSN 7500 subrack.

Issue Description

Sometimes it is required to change the subrack in following senerios:
1. Subrack burnt
2. Back plane faulty
and other isues

Alarm Information


Handling Process

  1. Note down all trails which are dropped or added and delete these trails
  2. Find the ASON trails which pass-through from this node and set these existing routes of the ASON Trails as original route.
  3. Optimize all the trails which pass-through the node by excluding this node and ensure that there are no trails which pass-through this node.
  4. Note down the power levels of all the boards and alarm details of the NE.
  5. Backup the script files of this node and also MO Backup and NE backup as a precaution.
  6. Switch off the Sub-rack, all the cards to the new sub-rack and ensure that the fibers are all connected as they are connected before and note down the power levels on the cards and compare the same, ensure that the control channels, Component links and TE links are the same as before the sub-rack was changed, also the alarms on the NE must remain the same.
  7. All the ASON Trails which were passing through the node earlier must be reverted to the original route, and ensure the normalcy of services.
