After a New UTM License Of the USG5300 Is Imported After the Old One Has Expired, the New License Does Not Take Effect

Publication Date:  2012-07-17 Views:  94 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

After a UTM license of the USG5300 expires, the customer applies for a new one and imports the new license for renewal. Then the customer views the license renewal status on the Web page or by running the display license command on the CLI, and finds that the UTM features have been enabled but the license expiration date is not displayed. This indicates that the license does not take effect.

Alarm Information

Handling Process

You can import the activation code by either of the following methods:
  1. If the device can be upgraded online, it automatically obtains the activation code from the previous Web site during an automatic upgrade.
  2. If the device does not support online upgrade, register with the Web site, and then obtain the activation mode manually after you log in to the Web site. Then import the activation code to the device.

Root Cause

The expiration date of a UTM license of the USG5300is controlled on the Web site. A license takes effect only after the corresponding activation code is entered on the device.

When you encounter the problem that a UTM license does not take effect after being imported, check whether the activation code is imported.
