Change Of the USG5300 UTM Does Not Take Effect, And the Working Mode On the SWeb Is Different From That On the CLI

Publication Date:  2012-07-17 Views:  110 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

According to the customer's complaint, the USG5300 at the customer's site starts up normally, the license is loaded to the USG5300 successfully, and version V100R003C01SPC006 can be viewed; however, the CLI does not display the IPS and AV commands and the sWeb does not display IPS and AV configuration options.
The CLI displays that the firewall works in firewall mode, while the sWeb displays that the firewall works in UTM mode. After the working mode is changed to UTM mode on the CLI, the system requires a restart. After the restart, the firewall working mode is still firewall mode, the working mode on the sWeb is still UTM, and the IPS and AV features are still unavailable.

Alarm Information

Handling Process

According to the collected diagnostic information, the memory is 2 GB during the firewall startup, so the UTM platform initialization fails. Because the default working mode of the USG5000 V100R001 is the UTM mode, the working mode on the sWeb is the UTM mode.
The BOM on the device barcode indicates that the device is the UTM version, so the memory should be 4 GB. Help the customer to reinsert the memory bar. The system identifies the 4 GB memory, and the UTM platform is loaded successfully.

Root Cause

Change of the USG5300 UTM does not take effect, and the working mode on the sWeb is different from that on the CLI.

When the information of the sWeb is different from that on the CLI, the information on the CLI is usually accurate.
