Online Update Of the AV/IPS Signature Database Of the USG5300 UTM Fails

Issue Description
After the configuration of the USG5300 UTM is complete, the AV/IPS signature database cannot be updated online.
Alarm Information
Handling Process
  1. Log in to the firewall Web page, and go to the configuration page.
  2. Choose System > Network > DNS. Then configure the DNS server.
Root Cause
The check procedure is as follows:
  1. The route/NAT configuration on the firewall is correct. The gateway can be pinged through.
  2. Packet filtering is also enabled.
  3. The relevant license and activation code are entered on the device.
The online update function of UTM signature database searches for the server by the domain name by default. The online update fails because no DNS server is configured on the firewall.
When the online update of the USG5300 UTM fails, check whether the DNS server is configured on the firewall.
