Issue Description

The Feb 9 09:21:42 mdud-ms01 kernel: nfs: server not responding, still trying information is displayed message on the NFS client.

Alarm Information

Handling Process

1. Run the following command to modify the mounting parameter of the client:
mount -t nfs -o rw,intr,tcp,bg,timeo=600
The reasons are as follows:
The value of timeo is 60, indicating 6 seconds. The former value is 10, indicating that when the I/O request is not delivered within one second, the alarm for not responding is displayed in the log.
2. The UDP parameters are used for TCP. It is recommended to use TCP because TCP is more stable.
3. Parameter intr allows interrupting client operations. With this parameter, the console does not hang due to the operations on the mounting point.
4. Parameter bg enables unsuccessful operations to be performed at the background.

Root Cause

The information is displayed when the client NFS I/O read/write times out. The timeout value can be specified by the timeo command.

Use the recommended mounting parameters.
