The script called by account sys exits unexpectedly, and the IP address fails to be modifi

Publication Date:  2012-07-18 Views:  507 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

Product versions: all Oceanspace N8000 versions
During the N8000 initialization, account sys and password n8000 are used to log in to the N8000 for initializing the cluster and modifying the IP address range.
After the modification, the physical IP address is successfully modified, but the virtual IP address remains on the original 192.168.1.x network segment. In addition, the pubeth0:x network port still exists in the system, and accounts master and support do not work in remote SSH login.

Alarm Information

Handling Process

Step 1: Log in to the cluster using account support. Run the following commands to stop the management network port service and the IP configuration service.
# ifconfig pubeth0:x down
# chkconfig add_imip off
The system does not respond.
Step 2: Edit the access.conf file in the /etc/security directory, and reserve the comment line starting with a pound sign (#) and the last two lines, as shown in the following:
# vi /etc/security/access.conf
Step 3: Restart the node, and log in to the node using the master account.
Step 4: Run the network command to switch to the network management mode. Run the ip addr modify command to manually modify the IP address range.
N8000> network
Entering network mode...
N8000.Network> ip addr modify
Command for modifying the IP address: ip addr modify oldipaddr newipaddr netmask
oldipaddr: indicates the original IP address.
newipaddr: indicates the new IP address.
netmask: indicates the subnet mask of the new IP address.
Step 5: Run the admin command to switch to the user management mode. After the command is successfully executed, the following information is displayed.
N8000.Admin> supportuser enable
Step 6: Run the support enable command to enable remote login account support.
Step 7: Run the network command to switch to the network management mode.
Step 8: Run the ip addr show command to query the IP address list of the current cluster.
In this example, if IP address is displayed, the configuration succeeds.

Root Cause

The script called by account sys exits unexpectedly and fails to be completely executed.
