When the UltraPath software is being installed in the Windows Server 2000 SP4 OS, a message is displayed indicating that the installation fails due to lack of the reg.exe file. The scenario is as follows: UltraPath version: UltraPath -1.30.002.win2k.x86 OS version: Windows Server 2000 SP4 Storage device version: Oceanspace S5300 V1R1C01SPC018 When the UltraPath software is being installed on the host, an error prompt is displayed as shown in the following figure:
From the Windows Server 2000 installation CD-ROM, run setup.exe in the SUPPORT\TOOLS directory to install the reg.exe file. If you do not want to install Support Tools, you can copy the reg.exe file to the Program Files folder (or its subfolders) of the system disk.
When the Windows Server 2000 OS is installed, Support Tools in the installation CD-ROM are not installed, which causes lack of the reg.exe file.
The UltraPath software release note should contain the following description: You should completely install the OS. If the reg.exe file is missing, run setup.exe in the SUPPORT\TOOLS directory of the installation CD-ROM to install the reg.exe file.
