2.6 TC-A2006 A Hard Disk Cannot Be Detected in the OS Because the Hard Disk Is Not Inserted Properly

Issue Description

A hard disk cannot be detected after you run the fdisk –l command in Linux; however, the online status indicator of the hard disk is green on and the read/write indicator is off. After the hard disk is reinserted, you can detect this hard disk after running the fdisk –l command.

Handling Process

Step 1     Reinsert the hard disk that is not inserted properly. For details, see Replacing a Disk Module in Oceanspace T3000 Storage Node Troubleshooting-(V100R001C01).                        
Step 2    
After the reinsertion, wait for three minutes. If the hard disk can be detected after you run the fdisk –l, the fault is removed.


Root Cause

The hard disk is not inserted properly.


Wait for three minutes after the hard disk is inserted and then check the disk online status indicator to determine whether the hard disk is normal.
