An Earlier Version of RAID Card Firmware Causes that the Buzzer not the Indicator Generates an Alarm for Disk Failures

Publication Date:  2012-07-19 Views:  154 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

The buzzer generates sound but the alarm indicator does not blink. This problem may be caused by a hardware failure.

Alarm Information

Handling Process

Replace the faulty disk.

Root Cause

The log indicates that a RAID card is degraded. Run the Areca RAID card CLI tool to collect the disk information, and a member disk is in the failed state and the RAID group is in the Degraded state. The earlier version of RAID card firmware causes that the indicator does not generate an alarm for disk failures.
