During the deployment of the NetBackup 6.5, two clients with the same name appear in the client list. However, the backup jobs are normal. Restarting the backup server cannot resolve the problem.
Step 1 View all backup policies of the client, and find that both Backupdb and backupdb exist.
Step 2 Change all names of the client in backup policies to Backupdb. Then the name repetition in the client list disappears
Client names are case- insensitive on Windows but case-sensitive on the NetBackup. So, even through names of the same spelling but different capitalization appear in the backup policy, the NetBackup still connects to clients and execute backup jobs normally. The client list contains the clients entered in the NetBackup backup policy, and the NetBackup identifies names of the same spelling but different capitalization but Windows does not. Therefore, the same client name appears multiple times in the client list.
