Step 1 Before the new device is scanned, ensure that the options of the new device are selected and a
proper range of LUNs is included.
Step 2 Rescan storage resources in the VTL console by right-clicking Physical Resources and choosing
Step 3 Check event logs and system logs and query the error message related to the rescanning
Even if the device is discovered, as a result of the error, the device still cannot be accessed.
Step 4 If the problem persists, contact Huawei Symantec technical support engineers.
After the physical resources are added, the VTL3500 does not perform the operation of scanning
Check whether the options for scanning devices in the VTL console are selected, or check the
error information in the logs to locate the fault.
