Issue Description

  • Host operating system: Solaris10U9 For X86

The host and the storage array were properly connected through a SAN network. Log in to the storage array management system, create a LUN and map it to the host, and then perform I/O operations on the LUN. During the read/write operations, run the reboot or init 6 command to restart the host. There is a low probability that the host halts and fails to restart.

Power off the host and power on it again. Then start the host.

Root Cause

A Solaris10U9forX86 operating system defect led to the failure to restart the host that was running read/write services.


It is not recommended that a host be restarted when it is running services. Ensure that all services are stopped before you restart a host.
