Handling Process

The procedure for upgrading the disk firmware version is as follows:


Step 1 Log in to the controller of the S5100 by using the management network port and enter the CLI.


Step 2 Run the upgradediskfirmware -s 0 -sl 22 command to upgrade the firmware of a single disk. -s indicates the disk enclosure ID and -sl indicates the disk slot. When controller (controller A) firmware version is V100R001C02B034 ( or a later version, the management software consists of the file required by upgrade. You can run the previous command to upgrade the disk firmware. After the disk firmware is upgraded, the alarm on the Web page is cleared. If the firmware remains unchanged after upgrade, remove and insert the disk.


Step 3 Run the upgradediskfirmware command to upgrade the firmware of all disks in an enclosure. After the upgrade, power off and then restart the storage system.


Step 4 If the management software does not consist of the required upgrade file, upload the file to the controller by using the SSH tool and run the disktool -n filename (the name of the required file ) command in debug dash mode. After the upgrade, power off and then restart the storage system.
