How to Troubleshoot the Fault that File System Information cannot be Viewed by Using Tune2fs after the LUNs

Publication Date:  2012-07-20 Views:  78 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
1. LUNs on the S5100 are mapped to the host.
2. The host discovers the mapped LUNs and partitions them.
3. Format the partitions by using mkfs.xfs.
4. Using tune2fs to view the UUID of the file system fails and an error occurs.
Alarm Information
Handling Process
Step 1  Partition the LUNs again and then format them by using mkfs.xfs. An error occurs.
Step 2  By checking the Help manual, find that tune2fs supports only the ext2/ext3 system.
Root Cause
1. If the formatted disks use the non-ext2/ext3 system, do not use tune2fs to view the UUID.
2. It is recommended to run the blkid command to view the UUIDs of all storage devices.
