The Apple Server Fails to Discover the Mapped LUNs Due to the Incompatibility

Publication Date:  2012-07-20 Views:  131 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
On a deployment site, the Apple server MB535 is installed, and its operating system is Apple MAC OS X Server 10.5.8. The server was planned to directly connect to the N8000, but the network topology changes and the server directly connects to the storage unit (S2300) of the N8000. However, the Apple server fails to discover the LUNs mapped from the S2300.
Alarm Information
Handling Process
Change the HBA model of the Apple server. (It is recommended to use the Qlogic QLE2462 with the version of QLogicHBA2xxx-2.00.03-2.)
Root Cause
The default HBA of the Apple server is incompatible with the S2300.
It is recommended to let customers know the compatibility between the OceanStor storage systems and the servers of other manufacturers before customers make configuration plans.
