Why Mapped LUNs of the S2600 Fail to be Deleted?

Publication Date:  2012-07-22 Views:  125 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

The S2600 is powered by a single power module, and its mapped LUNs fail to be deleted.

Alarm Information

Handling Process

Run the chgserviceconfig -i 0 command to disable the protection policy, that is, to allow users to configure services. After that, the mapped LUNs can be deleted.
The command reference is as follows:
-i isforbid
You must enter 0 or 1, 0 means the service configuration is allowed, 1 means the service configuration is forbidden.

Root Cause

To guarantee the integrity and consistency of configuration data, the S2600 adopts the protection policy, which forbids users to configure services in single power module or single fan module mode.

The S2600 protection policy has limitation; therefore, if users understand the potential risks, they can disable this policy. The previous command is applicable only to the R1 version but not to the R2 version.
