Issue Description

The IBM system x3650 AS connects to the SAS host ports of the S2600, but no mapped LUNs can be detected by the AS after configuration.

Product and version information:
  • S2600 (with SAS host ports)
  • The AS is IBM system x3650
  • The OS of the AS is CentOS 5.2

Alarm Information

Handling Process

1.Attach a new SAS HBA into the AS.

It is recommended to use the SAS HBAs from LSI to ensure the compatibility with the S2600

2..After restarting the AS, scan for hard disks again on the AS. If newly mapped LUNs can be detected, the fault is removed.

Root Cause

The SAS HBA integrated in the IBM system x3650 AS is incompatible with the S2600.

The SAS HBAs integrated in the IBM system x3650 AS are mainly applicable to the expansion of SAS storage arrays of IBM itself.
