Unable to Log In to Cluster Nodes in Clustered Environments Due to Disabled RPC Service

Issue Description

When users log in to the cluster nodes after creating the cluster, they are prompted with the Remote Procedural Call (RPC) service is unavailable.

Handling Process
  1. Open the registry editor on the secondary node.
    1. Choose Start > Run....
    2. In the displayed Run dialog box, enter regedit.
    3. Click OK.


      The Registry Editor screen is displayed, as shown in Figure 1.

  2. Unfold HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Control > Terminal Server.
  3. Right-click Terminal Server as shown in Figure 2.

  4. Choose New > DWORD Value as shown in Figure 3.

  5. Right-click .
  6. Choose Modify.


    The following screen is displayed, as shown in Figure 4.

  7. Change Value data to 1.
  8. Click OK to return to Registry Editor.
  9. Right-click .
  10. Choose Rename.
  11. Change the name of the key to IgnoreRegUserConfigErrors, as shown in Figure 5.

  12. Close Registry Editor.
  13. Restart the host.
Root Cause

In the clustered environment, the RPC service is disabled when the cluster node is being accessed.
