Black Background Occurs for Certain Areas in the ISM

Issue Description

When a storage device is managed on the maintenance terminal through the ISM, black background occurs for certain buttons or areas on the interface.

Product and version information:
  • S2600
  • S5000 series
  • The OS of the maintenance terminal is Windows XP SP2

Handling Process

  1. In the OS, right-click an empty area of the desktop, and then select Properties to open the Display Properties dialog box.
  2. Click the Settings tab.
  3. Select Medium (16bit) from the Color quality drop-down list, as shown in Figure 1.

  4. Click Advanced in the lower right corner to open the Plug and Play Monitor and Inter(R) dialog box (Intel G33/G31 Express Chipset Family in this case).
  5. Click the Troubleshoot tab, as shown in Figure 2.

  6. Set Hardware acceleration to None.
  7. Unselect the Enable write combining check box.
  8. Click OK to save the settings, and then close the Display Properties dialog box.

Root Cause

Black background occurs for certain areas in the ISM due to incorrect settings of the graphics card in the maintenance terminal.
