ISM Unable to Save Log Files Due to Incorrect User Permission Settings in Linux Or UNIX

Issue Description

The ISM is running properly on a maintenance terminal; however, no log files can be found under the installation path of the ISM.

Product and version information:
  • S2600
  • S5000 series
  • The OS of the maintenance terminal is either Linux or UNIX

Alarm Information


Handling Process

  1. Access the OS of the maintenance terminal in CLI mode.
  2. For the current user, run the command chmod to set read, write, and execute permissions of the directory in which the log files of the ISM are stored.
  3. Restart the ISM.

Root Cause

The directory in which the log files of the ISM are stored is inaccessible due to incorrect permission settings for the current user, causing the ISM fail to be started.
