Application Servers Unable to Recognize Storage Devices

Issue Description

After installing the UltraPath software on the AS, duplicated driver letters are found when scanning for mapped LUNs on the AS.

Product and version information:
  • S2600 (with FC host ports)
  • The version of the S2600 is earlier than V100R001C01B034
  • The OS of the AS is Windows Server 2003 (x64)

Alarm Information


Handling Process

  1. It is found that the OS of the AS is either Windows Server 2003 (x64) Standard Edition or Windows Server 2003 (x64) Enterprise Edition, and is properly installed.
  2. Install the UltraPath-01.01.14T01.win2k3.x64 installer from the supplied CD-ROM.
  3. Double click the install.bat file to install the UltraPath software.
  4. Rescan for mapped logical volumes on the AS to see whether the fault has been removed.

Root Cause

The installation of the supplied UltraPath software fails.
