Black screen, instead of configured video stream, are displayed on the digital wall of the TMS server.
• If this fault occurs due to the decoding configurations, you need to check whether Local Digital Signal Output is selected for the TMS server.
If Local Digital Signal Output is not selected on Decoding Configuration when all the other configurations are correct, images cannot be displayed on the digital wall.
1. Right-click on the main page of the TMS server, and then chooses Decoding Configuration.
2. Check whether the Local Digital Signal Output check box is selected on the Decoding Configuration dialog box. If not, select this check box and then click OK and Take Effect Now?. The fault is rectified.
• If this fault occurs due to the incorrect configuration file, the configuration file may be damaged, modified, or deleted.
The configuration file must be configured on the TMS client, and cannot be manually modified.
1. Check whether the TMS_Server.dat file exists in the installation directory.
2. Check whether the TMS_Server.dat file in the installation directory can be normally opened.
3. Check whether the TMS_Server.dat file in the installation directory can be modified by others.
• If this fault occurs due to missing of decoding library files corresponding to the encoder, the library files may be renamed or removed.
Generally, it is difficult to find that the library files are missing. In this case, you need to compare the library files with the library files on computers whose systems can normally display video stream, and then run the installation program to fix the system.
1. Compare the library files with the library files on computers whose systems can normally display video stream. If no such computer is available, skip this step.
2. Run the installation program to fix the TMS client. The fault is rectified.
• If this fault occurs due to an encoder fault, the network where the encoder is located may be unavailable or the encoder is faulty.
Encoder faults are classified into external faults and internal faults.
To check whether the network where the encoder is located is available, do as follows:
1. Choose StartRun, and then enter cmd to open the command line window.
2. Enter ping encoder_IPaddress after the command prompt.
If Request timed out. is returned, it indicates that the encoder is not on the same network as the local computer and you need to change the IP address of the encoder or the local computer, or that the encoder is faulty.
3. If the encoder can be successfully ping in step 2, the Internet explorer can be opened. Enter http://encoder_IPaddress in the address bar, and then enter the user name and password to access the encoder configuration page. You may need to install a corresponding ActiveX plugin. Check whether images are displayed on the encoder configuration page.
After the encoder is fixed, the fault is rectified.
Possible causes for that the digital wall of the TMS server cannot display video stream are as follows:
• Local Digital Signal Output is deselected on Decoding Configuration.
• The configuration file is incorrect.
• The decoding library files corresponding to the encoder are missing.
• The encoder error.
When this fault occurs, check whether configurations are correct and then check whether the encoder is faulty, that is, complying with the principle of rectifying easy faults before rectifying difficult faults.
