How to Troubleshoot the Fault that the Object Color is Abnormal in the Monitor?

Issue Description
This fault is caused by many factors such as the brightness, gray, chroma, and saturation of the image, and the white balance processing capability of the camera.
  • Brightness refers to the lightness of the primary colors (for example, the primary colors of an RGB image are red, green, and blue, or their own hues). Adjusting the brightness means adjusting the lightness.
  • Gray image means that 256 levels of brightness are divided between the pure white and the pure black, from white to gray and then to black. Similarly, gray represents the lightness of primary colors in RGB mode, that is, the lightness of red, green, and blue, from light to dark.
  • Saturation reflects how pure a color is. Each color has a defined standard. The saturation is a value that describes the closeness of a color is to its standard. Adjusting the saturation means adjusting the attribute of an image. If the saturation of an image is zero, the image will be gray.
  • Contrast reflects the differences between colors. The larger the contrast value is, the more different two colors are; the smaller the contrast value is, the closer two colors are. For example, if you increase the contrast value of a gray image, the image will be in sharp contrast in black and white; if you increase the contrast value to the maximum, the image will become a black and white image; if you decrease the contrast value of the black and white image to the minimum, the image will be a gray image again.
  • Tone is the colorful sense that is generated when you see a light of one or multiple wavelengths. The tone reflects the color types and is the basic feature of a color. For example, red and brown are tones.
  • White balance:
In different ambient viewing conditions, the color of an object changes. Human eyes are sensitive to the color change of white objects. For example, under the tungsten light inside the room, white objects appear having the orange tone and photos taken under this condition look a little yellow. Similarly, white objects appear having the blue tone under the blue sky, and photos taken under this condition look a little blue.
In order to correct the colors of photographed objects in different ambient viewing conditions, you need to correct the colors used by cameras, reaching the appropriate color balance.
As white objects reflect all visible spectrums, they are used as the adjustment standard. In the manual white balance setting, the white balance mechanism will try to adjust all the tones except white in a certain scope to pure white. If the color that is adjusted is yellow, the white balance operation will intensify the blue tone to weaken the yellow tone, obtaining a more natural color. If only the color of photographed white objects is restored to the real white, you can restore all other colors in the same light condition. This is called white balance adjustment.

Handling Process
Step 1  If the white balance has problems, put a piece of pure white paper in the monitoring area of the camera to cover the entire image that is monitored. Then set the white balance parameters properly.
Step 2  If the image has the problems such as abnormal brightness, reset the brightness, tone, saturation, and contrast of the image on the Monitor image setting interface.
Root Cause
  1. Check the real image effect to check whether the fault is caused by the white balance problem. That is, use the white object in the image as the reference to see whether the white color of the image is normal. If no, the camera has white balance problems.
  2. Analyze other colors of the image in terms of their brightness, contrast, saturation, and tone.
