An Encoder Cannot Be Logically Connected to the NVR Because the Encoder Is Not in the Compatibility List

Publication Date:  2012-07-23 Views:  151 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

After cameras are properly configured on the configuration page, the first camera can be added using the configuration tool, but the second camera cannot be added.

Alarm Information

Handling Process

Log in to the NVR Controller.

Both the default user name and password are admin.

Click the NVR management tab and choose Service Surveillance> > Running Mode.

Under Peripheral Equipment, click Add.

For the parameter description, see NVR Controller Help.

Root Cause

Check the compatibility list. The model of the camera that cannot be added is not in the compatibility list. The camera must be connected using the NSS method instead of the PUG method.

Cameras can be connected using either of the following methods:
  • Peripheral units from most Chinese manufacturers are connected using the NSS method, which is to use the encoder or camera configuration page.
  • Peripheral units from most manufacturers outside China are connected using the PUG method, which is to use the NVR Controller.
Before you connect a peripheral unit, refer to Industrial Video Surveillance Solution Compatibility List and choose a correct connection method.
