An NVR is Offline Because the RAID Program Is Abnormal

Publication Date:  2012-07-23 Views:  181 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

The process of an NVR is normal and the NVR is in multi-machine mode, but the status of the NVR on the ESM is offline.

Alarm Information

Handling Process

Emergency measures: Collect logs and restart the NVR.
Solution: Update the iNVS V100R002C01.

Root Cause

If the iNVS network and processes are normal, collect logs and restart the NVR to cope with the problem in an urgent situation.
Cause analysis:
  1. Connect an SSH tool to the NVR.
The default user name is root and default password is 123456.
  1. Under the root directory, run the getraidinfo command.
Collecting software RAID logs

After the command is run, raidinfo.tar is generated under the root directory.
If the RAID program is abnormal, multiple NCQ errors can be found in the RAID logs.

If the fault cannot be located or rectified using basic locating and handling methods, you can collect logs and restart the device. The following explains how to obtain the iNVS logs:
  • iNVS service logs: Run the /hinvs/tools/LogTools/ command. The log files are generated in the /hinvs/tools/LogTools/ directory.
  • Client logs: The client logs are generated in the log file folder under the PVM or TMS installation directory.
