Failure to Create a VSM User

Issue Description

During creation of a VSM user, an error message is displayed, as shown in Figure 10-1.

Handling Process

Step 1     Set the validity end date to a date before 2037-12-31, for example, 2037-12-30, and then create the VSM user again, as shown in Figure 10-3.

Root Cause

A user creates a VSM user on the VSM without customizing the validity end date. The VSM automatically sets the end date 2037-12-31, as shown in Figure 10-2. The VSM server then saves the end date as the UTC time. If the VSM user is created on the Western Hemisphere, its validity end date will be set to 2038-1-1, rather than 2037-12-31. The date 2038-1-1, however, exceeds the default end date of a VSM user. As a result, the VSM user fails to be created.
