P2P Traffic Control is Configured on the USG2130, but Thunder Traffic Cannot be Controlled

Publication Date:  2012-07-27 Views:  158 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

The user adopts 10M optical fiber to access the Internet. P2P traffic is set to 0 at the egress of the USG2130. But when the user downloads resources using Thunder, the traffic rate is 500 to 600 KB.

Alarm Information

Handling Process

1. Check the configuration. ACLs can be matched and the data packet statistics on discarded P2P packets can be viewed. This indicates that the configurations are correct.
2. After HTTP_DOWNLOAD and HTTP_STREAMING are added to the P2P traffic control protocols, the Thunder download speed is reduced to 0. The problem is solved.

Root Cause

1. The user implements incorrect configurations.
2. HTTP_DOWNLOAD and HTTP_STREAMING are not selected in the P2P traffic control protocol, so the traffic control is incomplete.

The traffic generated by Thunder download not only includes P2P traffic but also HTTP traffic. Therefore, you are advised to add HTTP protocols.
