A R5’s S2600 startup, we put a controller enclosure on the top of the cabinet. There are 4 D120S disk enclosure below the controller enclosure. The cascading cable is correct and the equipment’s state is normal. But the ID order isn’t showed from up to down. (0.1.2.3.4) This will make the customer feel confused and be difficult to maintenance.
Because these ID and configuration have write to DB after the preliminary power on, we can clear DB and link the disk enclosure again. The ID will be correct in this way.
The storage cascading enclosure’s ID is showed as the preliminary power on. Controller enclosure must be 0, then next disk enclosure is 1, and so on. This ID order will shows in ISM physical view.
In this time, the engineer connects the D120S downmost to the controller enclosure’s B. Then connect the link from secondary controller enclosure’s A. This make the first powered on is the D123S downmost, it’s ID is 1.
This situation will not affect the normal service, but make customer feel un-intuitionistic. So we should connect from one link when we make the initial configuration, this will not make the ID order confusional.
