Now we use S2600i and 6T-raid group as external storage equipment in a site. At first we partition the raid group to three LUN, 1T/3T/2T, they access to 3 upfront servers. If one of the servers gets down, the storage for it will release and combine to other two servers. So we need to change 3 LUN to 2 LUN with 3T. The changing plan is as below: reserve the second LUN, delete the first one and third one then combine the space. It will show that the new LUN excess capacity when we create the new LUN.
Delete all the LUN and create the over again, the problem will be solved.
Because we just delete the first one and the third one, the free capacity is discontinuous and can’t be combined. So we failed to create new LUN.
The discontinuous LUN can’t be combined, so we should assign the disk capacity rationality when we partition the LUN. It can avoid the data lose when we change the capacity of the last LUN.
