Issue Description

Cannot login in management web of RH2285 and cannot ping the network port successfully.

Handling Process

1. Check network port statement indicator, data indicator, if the indicators are abnormal, replace a new network cable.
2. Link PC to management port, examine if the IP is right, ensure the ping is normal.
3. Examine if management port of server can ping other IP in the same segment, ensure the ping is ok.
4. Examine the switch configuration that is linked to the server, it is ok. Then change to other port of the switch, the problem still exists. So it is not because of the switch.
5. Check the network port of the server using ifconfig、ethtool, ensure if there is error packet. From now on the problem is located on the network port of the server. Check the network port information, the IP, mask, gateway are right, but its broadcast address is abnormal, it should be A.B.C.255, but it is A.255.255.255. Then reset the device and configure IP again. Problem is solved.

Root Cause

1.  The connection is not right. The server is not powered on.
2. The segment of management terminal and server is not connected. You must examine the network.
3. The switch that is connected to the management network port is not configured right. Or it is hardware problem.
4. The problem of management network port or hardware.
5. The problem of network cable.


Many complicated problem is solved by reset.
