Solution to forgetting the password of the root account when log in the out-of-band Web interface of RH2285

Issue Description

The client in some bureau modified the password of the root account without remembering the new one after the field engineer finished the installation and configuration of RH2285, which results in the failure in logging in the out-of-band  Web management interface for managing.

Alarm Information


Handling Process

For the remote function can’t be used, we must reboot the RH2285 through field KVM. When it comes to self-check, press DEL to enter BIOS, do as the following figure to reset the BMC password and press F10 for saving. Reboot and use the new password for logging.

Root Cause

The client didn’t back up the newly modified user name or password, so the out-of-band Web management interface can’t be logged in and used normally.
