The wrong plot of vlan for 3526 switch interface leads the terminal can’t get online

Issue Description

Onsite fault: Changsha telecom conference room replace new high definition terminal, but it can’t connect and can’t register gk.
Onsite networking situation: there are 2 switches from equipment room to optical-to-electrical converter. They direct connect by optical fiber. Terminal uses optical-to-electrical converter to direct connect to switch, switch connect to terminal. Equipment room use 3526 switch and direct connect to optical fiber interface.

Handling Process

 Fault elimination: test if the line is connective firstly, use optical-to-electrical converter in two sides of optical fiber line, then connect portable computer, ping ip address, the network is ok. And the optical fiber interface is normal. So the problem is in the configuration of switch. Examine the switch configuration, it plots 7 vlans. Because the optical fiber interface default is belong to vlan1, but it blocked. So we can ensure vlan1 is not service vlan. But we still can’t ensure which is the service vlan. So we plot a new vlan and get that interface into this new vlan, we can see the terminal get online. So the problem is the plot of vlan. We find the service vlan and solve the problem.

Root Cause

Fault analysis: According to the fault and check gk/rmcc server in equipment room, we find that the terminal hasn’t registered online, so it’s network fault.


Problem suggestion: we should learn more about the configuration or fault elimination of switch and route.
