[VTL6000] VTL software problem: VTL server cannot detect some SIR disk

Issue Description

Configure SIR server and associate it with VTL server, VTL server cannot detect some SIR disk.
Concrete phenomenon express like below:
In VTL console navigation tree, select physical resource > storage device >fiber channel device, and select disk mirrored to VTL server by SIR cluster, click general tab, value of SCSI ID alias name is out of default range of scanning.

Handling Process

Step 1 In VTL console navigation tree, right click on physical resource, and select rescan.
Step 2 Select find new device on dialog of designate range of adapter, SCSI ID and LUN to be scanned.
Step 3 Input range value of SCSI ID, maximum value should be larger than all the SCSI ID value of disks associated with VTL server.
Step 4 Single clicks on OK.

Root Cause

VTL server would scan disks mirrored by SIR cluster automatically when associate with SIR cluster, default value range of scanned disk SCSI ID is 1~15, if mirrored disk SCSI ID value is out of default range, VTL server cannot discover disk.


In VTL console navigation tree, select optical fiber channel device, check disks mirrored form SIR cluster to VTL server.
