Issue Description

On VTL3500 deployment, the reboot after changing host name via console is slow, after 6, 7 minutes, login in via SSH, use ‘shutdown’ to shut the device, then the program cannot run, and console cannot login.

Alarm Information

Handling Process

1. Use SSH to login in VTL system and uninstall VTL program.
2. Copy VTL document in Recovery CD to /root of VTL system, reinstall the VTL program.
3. Reboot

Root Cause

It costs 5-10 minutes to reboot all the service after changing the host name via console, in this time, you cannot login via console.
Using ‘shutdown’ to shut the service and reboot will cut the normal reboot process, which causes VLT service cannot be started and cannot login via console.

You should wait for ten minutes after changing the host name via console, don’t shutdown by hand, or it may cause unnecessary problems.
