Problem symptom: optical channel diagnosis board DASD alarm, system error indicator alarm, checkpoint code display is 00, hard disks on slot 6, 7 cannot be recognized, hard disks on slot 0, 1 cannot be recognized, hard disks on slot 1, 2 can be recognized. There is alarm information like below in IMM log:

Alarm Information

Handling Process

DASA alarm means hard disk driver fault, involved component is hard disk, hard disk backplane, SAS cable, RAID card. Hardware fault and poor contact may cause this alarm.
DASD alarm in this case and array excerption is caused by hard disk subsystem poor contact.
When there is DASD alarm, check if hard disk is normal, then reinstall hard disk subsystem. Hard disk subsystem is like in figure 3, red cable in figure is SAS cable, connect hard disk backplane and RAID card.

Root Cause

Optical channel diagnosis board DASD alarm light brighten, it means hard disk driver is faulty or removed, if checkpoint code indicator flash alternately Cx:00, there is bus problem that cannot be repaired. Check IMM log, there is problem in array, RAID is keeping reconstructing.
Based on situation, the problem is on server array, below operation is needed:
1. Reinstall these components:
Faulty hard disk driver
SAS hard disk driver backplane
SAS signal cable
Array card
I/O board component
Reboot server after all components is installed.
1. If the fault remains after above steps, then delete old RAID and configure new RAID.
