Linux system will set the disk to read only when it find error in disk to backup data, in this way the data can’t lost after disk have fault. We can ensure there are some problems in hard disk when the file system is read only. We have raid1 in RH2285 when installing operating system. When writing data, raid1 will write the data to the main disk then copy to spare disk. Seeing from this problem, the system meet errors when writing to the main disk, it leads the read only file system can’t install system.

When server can’t install linux operating system normally, it will print the error information, we can judging the fault reason from the error information, it’s helpful for dealing with fault.
