Issue Description

Client used XFP XFP-STM64-LX-SM1310 optical module to connect manufacturer C switch on client S9300, the connection is up, but it cannot ping the direct connection interface, if replacing it by "Finisar FTRX-1411M3", it can ping.

Alarm Information

Handling Process

The failure solved after changing as our company optical module.

Root Cause

1. XFP-STM64-LX-SM1310 is not the authentication optical module. This optical module has no corresponding driver code or laboratory authentication. It needs lots of coding and testing work if needing the support.
2. The drive will not configure on the hardware register for the non-support optical module. S9300 double sides optical worked on default mode, the interconnection can work but cannot ensure stabilization.
3. Other manufacturer device will take the initialization setting for optical module in some conditions. Then it will be problematic when connecting with S9300.

It suggested the client to bye our company authentication optical module.
