Issue Description

There has mounted the HITACHI storage in the Solaris 10 system, and uses the FC switch to connect the storage and multi-path software. Mount our company’s S2600 storage to this system, and we find the multi-path software brought by the system’s own can’t become effective for the S2600, but the HITACHI storage can be used normally.

Alarm Information

None

Handling Process

1. Modify the current file configuration “/kernel/drv/scsi_vhci.conf”:
device-type-scsi-options-list =
"HITACHI DF600F", "symmetric-option";
symmetric-option = 0x1000000;
device-type-scsi-options-list =
"HUAWEI  S2600", "symmetric-option";
symmetric-option = 0x1000000;
As to:
device-type-scsi-options-list =
"HITACHI DF600F", "symmetric-option",
"HUAWEI  S2600", "symmetric-option";
symmetric-option = 0x1000000;
2. Restart the system, and the multi-path software becomes effective.

Root Cause

1. The multi-path software’s configuration is wrong.
2. While using multiple producers’ storages at the same time, the management software has some problem.

Suggestions

While connecting multiple storages, the configuration in the “/kernel/drv/scsi_vhci.conf” file is different from connecting single storage, we should combine them together and separate as the comma.
