Publication Date:  2013-02-05 Views:  417 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

Customer configured  the gateway under management interface Eth0/0/0 for his management network. When transfering data from devices via mgnt gateway he observed packet loss. Currently used version is V200R100C00SPC300. Before this version he used V100R200.
On V100R200 this packet loss behavior didn't exist.

Alarm Information

packet loss.

Handling Process

move the configuration on a service board interface.
Ethernet0/0/0 is only suggest to be management interface for s9300, DO NOT make this interface as the gateway interface for other server.

Root Cause

We check the configuration, indeed the gateway for mgnt network was configured under eth0/0/0 - management interface.
interface Ethernet0/0/0
undo negotiation auto
ip binding vpn-instance mgmt
ip address

We suggest to move management to a service board, the ASIC chip will do the packet transfer.
From V200R100 a security feature was added, that limits the traffic sent to CPU via management interface to a certain secured value.
