Publication Date:  2013-05-17 Views:  754 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
When packets are captured on the PC, the VLAN tags in the received packets are filtered. Therefore, the packets captured by the Ethereal do not carry VLAN tags.
Alarm Information
Handling Process
To resolve this problem, perform the following steps:

1. In the cmd window, run ipconfig /all to check the type of the network adapter.
2. For the Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet card, perform the following steps:
2.1.Open the register.

2.2.Locate TxCoalescingTicks under HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet.

2.3.Add an item PreserveVlanInfoInRxPacket=1 with type string.

2.4.Reboot the system after the modification.

3. For the Intel PRO/1000 or PRO/100 network adapter, set MonitorModeEnabled of HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\00xx to 1. If the item MonitorModeEnabled does not exist, you must create a dword key.
Root Cause
You must modify the register to enable the drive to reserve VLAN tags.
