A License File Is Found Damaged After It Is Imported to the Storage System

Issue Description
After a license file is imported to a storage system, the system generates an alarm indicating that the license file is damaged.

Diagnosis Method:

You can diagnose the fault by either of the following methods:
 The storage system has the following screen output:

If Error code is 11, the file format is incorrect.
 Open the license file using the notepad:

− If the word in the red square is Custom, the storage system model must be the SX900.
− If the word is Customer, the storage system model must be the T series.
− If your actual storage system model is different, an alarm is generated indicating that the license file is damaged.

1. Log in to Choose a license conversion tool based on the type of the license file.

2. Choose a correct product model and version, and then convert the license file.

3. Import the converted license file into the storage system.

Check After Rectification:
After the license file is imported, the value-added functions can be properly used.
Root Cause
1. The license files used in the T series and the SX900 series invoke different license libraries for file verification: The T series invokes Huawei Symantec license library while the SX900 series invokes Huawei license library.
2. Therefore, if you try to import a license file obtained from Huawei license center to the T series, or from Huawei Symantec license center to the SX900 series, the storage system generates an alarm indicating that the license file is damaged. (After Huawei's acquirement of Huawei Symantec, the two license centers have been unified, and this error is eliminated in current product versions.)
