OracleCSService Is in the Starting State So That the UltraPath Installation Process Stops

Issue Description

Product and version information:
  • T series storage products
  • The operating system of the application server is Windows Server 2003 Enterprise X86 Edition.
The UltraPath is installed on a host. When the installation progress reaches 90%, the installation process stops, as shown in the following figure:

Handling Process

Step 1 Choose Start > Management Tools > Services.
Step 2 Disable all Oracle-related services such as OracleCSService, as shown in the following figure:

Step 3 Install the UltraPath again.
Step 4 After the UltraPath is successfully installed, manually start OracleCSService.

Root Cause

When OracleCSService is in the starting state, it occupies the system lock. The UltraPath installation process cannot obtain the system lock. As a result, the installation process stops.


Before installing or uninstalling the UltraPath, disable all Oracle-related services such as OracleCSService. Disabling these services does not affect other system processes.
