An STM board can be used only for MA5680T R62 or later versions; but the current equipment is V8R5C32B138. Therefore, an upgrade is required. However, the BGP service fails after the equipment is upgraded to V8R6C02SPC100.
Network topology: LAN switch 1 -> MA5680T -> OT925 -> LAN switch 2
LAN switch 1 and LAN switch 2 communicate with each other using BGP. After upgrade, a BGP channel fails to be set up.
Currently, the system cannot control whether BGP packets are permitted. The only method is to modify the VLAN attribute of BGP traffic streams to QinQ. After modification, the MA5680T transparently transmits VLAN traffic streams.
1. Delete traffic streams carrying the BGP service. The following uses service port 2 with VLAN 224 as an example.

2. Modify the attribute of VLAN 224 to QinQ.

3. Create traffic streams with QinQ VLAN 224 and tag-transform transparent.

After modification, the BGP service is functional and the fault is rectified.
In R52, the MA5680T does not support BGP and therefore does not process BGP packets but transparently transmits them. The BGP service is normal. After being upgraded to R62SPC100, the MA5680T supports BGP and transmits BGP packets to the CPU for processing. As a result, the BGP channel between LAN switch 1 and LAN switch 2 fails to be set up.
